Home Brew Recipes come in various styles as well as malt extract vs all grain recipes. I like to refer to beer recipe books to start the basis for a beer recipe in a certain style. So for example, if I wanted to brew a stout, I would refer to a beer recipe book and compare some of the stout recipes, and then pick and choose details I like about them. Sometimes I will mix and match ideas to come up with a beer recipe that is a little bit different. Of course you could take a recipe and make it by the book if you are not familiar with all the different homebrew ingredients.
