Well, can’t believe the summer is practically over, but here is the Saison/Wit theme already passed. I was glad to be able to meet some new faces like Matt Vardjan, Jeff Eby and Mark Garber. The food was great as usual with Alex/Michelle’s Corn salsa, Nate’s wife’s excellent cornbread and Frank’s pizza and thanks to Floyd for the soft pretzel rods.
I was priveleged to be able to taste some but not all of these great homebrews –
John Miller’s Breakfast Stout, Saison, and Wit,
Jason Beaupre’s Hefeweizen,
Alex Brubaker’s American Wheat and Hefeweizen,
Mike Ingrassia’s Flemish Red, Mango Peach lambic, Bourbon Triple, Saison and Test brew’s 1+2 (ale w/ De Dolle and T58 yeasts),
Matt Vardjan’s Doppelbock,
Bob Null’s Belgian Honey, After Dinner Mint-peppermint porter, Double IPA,
Bill Smith’s Blueberry Ale
Frank Melvin’s Extra extra pale and Belgian IPA
Mark Garber’s Belgian IPA and Hefe
Steve Apat’s Saison and Centennial Pale
Dan Sach’s Saison
and yours truly brought an Imperial Wit and Kitchen sink stout.
Thanks again to everyone who came and made the evening memorable. I really enjoyed Gemuchlichkeit and hope you will make it to our next meeting which the Theme is spiced/vegetable beers. So if you have a coriander infused helles or sweet potato porter or maybe a mushroom brown- bring it!
I wanted to throw this out at the meeting, but figured here is as good a place to include it as any – The club picnic (see the Calendar of events: http://www.lancasterbrewers.com/calendar-of-events/)Sunday October 11th we want to try something new. bring a six pack of a single type of beer to donate at September’s Meeting and receive a raffle ticket, we will mix up all the sixers for a seriously unique mixed six prize at the picnic – the more participation -the better it will be.
Cheers!
Matt -VP
